Growth outside uterus, not fibroid

I know it's ridiculous to post at this stage, but I'd really like to know what the possibilities are.

After something abnormal was seen on a CT scan, as well as a fibroid that had grown a bit, I had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday. The fibroid is nothing to worry about, but the radiologist (is that who does ultrasound?) saw some kind of growth outside my uterus; she showed me on the screen but I couldn't make out what it looked like. She said "That's big!" Confused. It's about 7cm across. She said she'd talk to someone else, and email my GP, she thought they might want to refer me to a gynaecologist and maybe do an MRI scan.

This may all happen quite soon, I don't know, but of course I'm a bit spooked. I can't find any info online, only stuff about fibroids. I'm mid-60s, nearly 20 years post menopause, very healthy, no history of gynae problems, no bleeding, no pain. Occasional bloating.

Very grateful for ideas, similar experiences, expert or non-expert thoughts!

Well, the wheels of the NHS are turning, god bless it! Looks like I'll get a gynae appointment fairly soon, and I'm waiting for a call from a doctor at my GP practice which may provide more information.

Adenomyosis, endometriosis, varicose veins (sorry, I forgot the terminology for when it affects the uterus).

Good luck with your next appointment, I hope they shed some light on it x

Hope it all turns out to be nothing op and I hope you get answers really soon!

I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. It's so frustrating this waiting for appointments isn't it!

Bloodybridget · 20/04/2019 19:23

Thanks very much for all replies - sorry, I stopped looking for them. I have got an appointment at OP Acute Gynaecology on 29th - glad I don't have to wait too long, but also more worried because my GP obviously wanted me to be seen quickly! ElyElyOy I have looked at adenomyosis and endometriosis, the symptoms don't quite add up, but who knows? Of course I've also been looking at all the pelvic cancers, and none of them seems to fit either . .

Many thanks for the good wishes.
