Menstrual Cups

I've been thinking of using a menstrual cup for some time now, and I finally took the plunge this weekend and bought one.

I've opted for the Intimina Lily Cup. Has / does anyone use this kind, or any other in fact?
Are they comfortable and easy to insert?

Advice please Grin

i got a femme cup and when i misplaced it got a mooncup. both fine, slightly prefer the mooncup i think as it's v slightly softer.

takes a bit of getting used to and you need to use your internal muscles rather than trying to push/pull just with your fingers but i much prefer and i my periods are now much more regular and manageable than they were before - and this is the only thing that changed...

I have one but my periods are so light I rarely use it. I use it if I'm on holiday whilst having my period.

I sometimes worry about leaking but I've had no issues to do. Maybe use a pantyliner to start with as well until you get used to inserting it properly.

Rinse it under the tap and have a practise before your period. Lots of people trim the stem off completely as they are uncomfortable. I have used the Mooncup for the last 12 ish years.

OP let us know how you get on with it. I too have been thinking about trying one of these, and DD (12) is asking about them.

My main concern about them is whether they might trigger thrush, particularly for those who have a propensity to get thrush after sex. I don't currently suffer with thrush, but have had repeated frequent bouts in the past and don't want to return to that state.

If anything they reduce the chance of getting thrush.

I have used a mooncup for several years now. Takes a bit of getting used to but I love it now. I empty it 3/4 times in 24 hours, no mess, no smell. Very environmentally friendly!
