Over the last 6 weeks I have noticed I am constantly bloated and needing to urinate alot, 3 or 4 times an hour. My stomach inside feels sore and pulled. I am also getting shooting pains down below, I am extremely tired and nauseous. I am more constipated too.
Yesterday I managed to get a last minute appointment with the Doctor I dont particularly like. He plays everything down and makes me feel stupid and like I am making things up. Anyway I told him everything and he laughed at me and said 'it going to be down to IBS'. Which is fine, I do suffer with IBS but NEVER like this. My stomach feels so sore and bloated, and the frequent urination is getting me down.
Maybe I am moaning over nothing. He has requested Full Blood Count bloods and a urine sample, but I just feel like he isnt taking me very seriously. And I feel like alot of things these days are batted off as IBS. It's getting me down now and suffering from anxiety badly his attitude and laughing at me doesn't help.

Sorry just having a bit of a moan x

How old are you OP? Are you symptoms outside of your 'normal' IBS ones? Do you know if a CA125 marker is included in the full bloods? This is marker of some kind of infection within the body so it can indicate other issues that might need investigating.

I looked for that but no it hasn't been. This is a doctor that refused me a blood test for vitamin D as it cost so much he said. When I finally got it after 6 months all I got was an apology when the results returned that my levels were severely low.
It's making me miserable now.

Ask to see a different doctor and push for the CA125 test.

I've booked in with the best doctor there. She is always so thorough. You can never get an with her. It's 5 weeks away 😢

He's requested bloods and urine. I'd not say he has totally dismissed you. IME peoples idea of "thorough" is usually just the ones who let them have any test they want regardless of need or cost.
I notice you said your symptoms have been going on for 6 weeks but you took a last minute 'emergency' appointment slot. If you want nicer treatment from your GP then don't do things like take up their extra slots with your ongoing problems. They usually do these on top of their regular appointments to help patients who need to be seen quickly, like people with babies.

My aunt had those symptoms and was fobbed off by her GP with IBS!
She had ovarian cancer - I'm sure yours is nothing serious but go back - ask to see a different GP or be referred for a gynaecologist clinic. Or ask for CA125 blood marker test.

Ps CA125 isn't a test to look for infection in the body - it stands for Cancer Antigen and it's a test to look for proteins which are specifically associated with cancer, it's used when suspecting a number of cancers but is most reliably associated with ovarian cancer. Don't want to scare you, just give you the facts.

Thanks. I will do this.
I don't feel I should have justify me taking a emergency slot. I have been trying to get an appointment for weeks now so I don't feel I have wasted an emergency appointment on my ongoing symptoms. As for him being dismissive I disagree. He really is. And other patients feel the same with him. And when he sits there and laughs at you, and rolls his eyes its unacceptable.
The doctor I am now awaiting an appointment with is very good. Not just because she throws tests at you, (she doesn't) but because she takes the time to listen, examine and discuss everything with you. You feel like she wants to help.
He didn't even examine my stomach or ask any questions which may indicate I have an infection.

A raised CA125 is a sign that the body is fighting an infection. It does not necessarily mean cancer. As I said above, it is a marker that the body is having to fight an infection of some kind. It could be all sorts of other things, including cysts, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and pelvic inflammatory disease. Yes, get it checked but DO NOT panic or assume that you have cancer.

Emperor the only way to get an appt at my surgery is to phone for an emergency one. If you miss the Monday am phone madness - or can't get through - you're stuffed for the next 2 weeks. And then they won't book ahead for more than 2 weeks...

So I am really quite uncomfortable today with my stomach. I've got to see the doctor regarding my blood results. Not exactly sure what for but the receptionist said that it looks like the folate level it higher than normal levels so it could be that. She did stress however that she is not medically trained. Anyway whilst I have to wait now for me appt, has anyone had experience in raised folate levels?
