Are these symptoms normal for a middle aged woman...?

These are the symptoms I have and I don't know if I am just a bit precious or they are something that needs looking at.

I am on HRT and it is working great.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and have had for 20 years or so.

I have not had a period for 16 months so well past the menopause. I have these symptoms.

I am gaining weight at about 3 pound a week at the moment (even though I have not increased what I eat and I am doing more exercise to try and stay active.)
I have pains everywhere, today it is in my left arm, yesterday it was my neck and the day before that it was my shoulder, it moves around all the time.
I feel really tired after I have been to the Gym or been on a walk/Bike ride (more so than i used to)
I have a massive tummy, like I am 6 months pregnant, all the weight gain is congregating around my tummy.

I don't want to bother the doctor if all I need is to eat ALOT less?
(I usually eat about 2300 calories a day but i have an active job and exercise every day in some form or other.)

Is this just part of getting old and do i need to just alter my diet accordingly? I am thinking the pain may be from the weight gain and will go if I lose weight. I have gained 1.5 stone in a year.

Get tested for diabetes

It could be an underachieve thyroid. Worth checking out.

Also worth being checked out for ovarian cancer. Have you been to your GP?

I haven't been to GP for these specific issues but have been told I need a test for an underachieve thyroid as the last one was showing it was underactive. I think I will go back to see her.

This sounds like me, but without the arthritis. I don't weigh myself but have gone up a dress size over the past year. I get aches in my chest, shoulders, hands and hips a lot! (Like mild flu aches). I excercise as much as ever, but get breathless easier, possibly due to the weight increase.
I'm actually off to the docs today to check out these symptoms!

Possibly ovarian cyst or ovarian cancer.

Push for an ultrasound and don't get fobbed off with laxatives like my mum did. (Turned out to be massive cyst by the way, which she had removed).

Thankyou, I will pop in to see my GP and get some tests, they are great actually, and have always done right by me and my family, so after your comments I am sure I won't be wasting her time if I go in.

Please go to the doctor. The tummy size is a worry as is putting on weight. Without wishing to alarm you I had these symptoms and was subsequently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. If it's not suggested, push for an ultrasound and blood test for the CA125 marker.
