Cerrelle

My niece is taking this and she finds she's bleeding every week or so. Nothing heavy but it's not what she was hoping for. She says it seems like she's almost constantly on her period.

She's been on Cerelle for 4 months. Is this long enough to make a decision and say 'try something else' and if so what would you suggest as a contraceptive?

She can't take the combined pill.

Thanks Smile

There are other mini pills she could try that aren't desogestrel based.

Gina2012 · 14/02/2019 17:47

So not all mini pills have progesterone? Or am I missing your point? Sorry if I am.

Norgeston and noriday are other mini pills that don't contain desogestrel as their active hormone. They do contain a progestogen but it's a different one to cerelle. They have a 3 hour window rather than the 12 hours you get with cerelle

I see - sorry it's been a long day!

So a DIFFERENT type of progesterone? Which might make a difference for her?

I see. That sounds interesting. Thank
