Right side pelvic pain

Can anyone give me ideas as to what this could be. I have been to the doctors so many time but just get fobbed off and no diagnosis but still have the pain. It’s a dull ache all the time, mainly lower right side radiates around to side and back. I have been tested for hormones = ok, coeliac = ok, gastro appt suggested IBS and low wheat diet, I have been on a low carb/gluten free diet for 3 weeks now and no change therefore thinking it must be something else! Any ideas?

Could be an ovarian cyst. I had the same type of pain but only on the left side. I had a scan and it revealed a large cyst. I was rescanned again after 3 months and it had gone!
I would go back to the GP and ask for a scan.

Gallbladder??

Fallulah · 01/02/2019 20:18

Was going to say ask for an ultrasound in case ovary. Don’t be fobbed off with IBS or kidney stones until they’ve ruled ovary out.

Oh dear - just been on this journey myself ( left side). Fortunately pain was bad enough to go to A and E and had a CT scan. Ovarian cyst - having ovaries removed next week ( I’m post menopausal) Can you ask to be referred to gynaecologist ( or afford to pay)?

Bourdic I have just read your post, glad you have some answers. I’ve had a scan and nothing to report, a couple of small kidney stones but of no concern, so they have ruled out gynea and gasto do what does that leave?!

There’s no way to rule out endometriosis unless you’ve had a laparoscopy so it could be that?

I had the same kind of pain. Went for tons of testing nothing. Had my dd 2 years ago via c section. Turns out I had differed nerve damage pain from the c section. Take amitriptyline one a day and the pain is completely gone. Have you had any ops near that area like a c section? Could have been within the last three years for the pain to start happening.

grumblina · 01/02/2019 23:21

Have you considered it being a muscular pain. I have trouble with sacroiliac and pirifomis pain on the right side which can sometimes feel like it’s a “period pain” radiating from my lower back depending on what activity/position I’m sitting . I have trigger points which flare up and need manipulated.

Merchantgirl · 01/02/2019 23:24

I had the same quite badly recently after my period-I think it could be c section related too.

LivininaBox · 01/02/2019 23:25

Is it joint pain, i.e. the joints of your pelvis?

LoniceraJaponica · 01/02/2019 23:28

Grumbling appendix?

yummumto3girls · 02/02/2019 20:10

Thanks everyone, I had a c-section 9 years ago, a pelvic sling before that (hence c-section so I wouldn’t damage it) and an ablation probably 3 years ago. How would I know it’s related to any of that?

I had a similar pain on my left side after sepsis - lots of scans and treatment found no cause, it was suspected that I had scar tissue from the sepsis.

I was referred to a pain specialist who examined me and put her finger (hard) right on the spot where I was sore. She explained that I had a muscle firing constantly, and could fix it.

I have had painkillers injected and I am now pain free after 2 years of taking cocodamol every day.

Would recommend you try to get referred to a pain specialist even if you have to pay for the initial appt as waiting lists are long. If everything else has been ruled out it might help. Even if it helps get proper pain relief it is positive.

I had this pain and it turned out to be referred pain from sacro illiac joint
