Prolapse/recteole - Tell me your non-surgical success stories

I have self diagnosed a recteole and have done nothing about it. I went to the GP when pg (10 years ago!) and she told me there was nothing wrong and I never went back

Symptoms are very low cervix, couldn’t use tampons when I had periods (don’t get them anymore) and bulge at back of vaginal wall.

I don’t have any pain or discomfort or incontenence problems. I don’t think there is anything wrong with my bladder. I’m aware things may deteriorate as I get older so want to get my house in order now.

Should I ask for a GP referral for physio? Are those electronic stimulation gadgets any good? Does anyone have any good resources for pelvic floor excercises?

What I’d really like to know is is the damage reversible without surgery

Hi, I'd got to the GP again and just get a handle on exactly what you're dealing with, rather than self diagnose. I think it's important that you get a professional's opinion on how severe or not it is before deciding on treatment. There are good resources out there, however I've had surgery after having put up with it for 7 years. I'm very glad I did. The physio you tube videos from Michelle Kenway (Aussi women's health physio) are a good start, and I use the Kegel8 Ultra 20 pelvic toner, which is the only one I've found comfortable to use with a prolapse. But for me surgery was the best option, together with physio and the electrical toner x
