Severe lower abdominal pain

I've been having pain during or after intercourse for the last 8 months and having extremely painful, long and heavy periods, this pain is mostly on my lower right side but sometimes spreads down into my vagina and across my uterus, I've been to the doctors and she was almost certain I had endometriosis but I had an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and they couldn't see anything abnormal, blood tests and swabs also came back clear. I'm so frustrated as this pain keeps getting worse, to the point where I'm curled up screaming in pain and thinking I should go to hospital, it's ruining my sex life with my partner and I can't afford anymore time off work because of this, I also had a miscarriage on the 31st of July at 9 weeks and 4 days.
If anyone has any idea what could be wrong with me please help I can't live with this pain anymore

Was it an abdominal ultrasound or a transvaginal one?

Adenomyosis (like endometriosis but only in the uterus) can cause symptoms similar to what you describe.

Have you had investigations for ibs and stomach issues? My ibs always used to flare up after sex, the pain was excruciating.

I had an abdominal and vaginal ultrasound, she was looking around for about 20 minutes and couldn't see anything

My doctor couldn't find any indication towards intestinal or stomach issues, I even braved the rectal exam and she found nothing

Push them to keep investigating.
Don't let them fob you off. If they didn't find anything with an ultrasound ask the, what the next step is e.g an mri, referral to gynaecology etc.

It is certainly in your interests to find out what is causing this. You will need to be persistent in order to get answers.

(Some women who are diagnosed with IBS actually turn out to have endometriosis instead because it can also get onto the intestines).

You need a referral to a gynaecologist and as soon as possible. Your GP should have referred you by now too. I would put a crisp fiver on you actually having endometriosis; you have many of its symptoms not least of all pain, heavy bleeding and pain during sex (this is also an indicator of endo being present). Its also the second most common gynae problem seen in women after fibroids.

If you do not already do this I would start keeping a daily pain and symptom diary; it will give the gynae clues.

Endometriosis if present is not readily picked up on internal or external ultrasound scans because the endometriosis deposits are so very small. I have had more internal ultrasounds than I care to mention and none of those ever saw the extensive endometriosis throughout my uterine cavity. Not surprised either to see that a rectal exam showed nothing either (I used to get rectal pain too but the pain was due to referred pain from endometriosis in my uterus).

This is a good website too www.endometriosis-uk.org/

I have severe abdominal pain waiting for a scan my blood tests said all ok , I also have a prolapse which I thought was the cause of the pain getting worse, but doctor said no something else going on , last week the pain was unbearable, but it has eased off again now to a dull period pain, I’m worried they won’t find anything, had scans before nothing showed, the fatigue I feel is worse than the pain 😫🤔 just want my life back,

If endometriosis is present scans will in all likelihood not detect it.
You need a referral to a gynaecologist, has this as yet been arranged?. What has been done to date about the prolapse as well?.

Appointment has been arranged for gynaecologist, just have to wait
