hysteroscopy help

Hopefully someone would have had a hysteroscopy out there. Wondering what the wait time was?

Mines non urgent so;
Went to clinic as couldn’t find coil, doctor couldn’t find it so referred me for a scan.
Internal scan confirmed it is there but sonographer feels it would be hard to reach. Off to see GP on the 23rd- wondering how long it would take for the hysteroscopy referral?
Would like to TTC this year & I don’t want to leave it to then find out it takes months to have to removed!

Anyone’s experiences would be much appreciated...

I think it all depends as to what their concerns are, as to how soon they’ll get you in. Due to very heavy bleeeding I had an ultrasound first which picked up fibroids, cyst on ovary, polyp on cervix and a very thick endometrium. I got in for a hysteroscopy 2 weeks later due to all these things they found.

Saying that I had the hysteroscopy and biopsies from wall of my uterus done on 8th Jan and I still haven’t had the results. Cacking myself thinking the worst....

The hysteroscopy itself was fine, had it all done without any anaesthetic including the biopsies- hardcore eh?! Good luck with yours

Ps the initial appointment they offered me was a 6 week wait for the hysteroscopy which I think is pretty standard. The fast forwarded it for me after the ultrasound.

But I imagine it all differs between hospitals.

Oh thank you- that’s so useful & reassuring to here!

Fingers crossed I have a GP appointment on Wednesday so may have some more info then.

So glad the six week wait doesn’t sound too bad. You’ve really put my mind at rest Flowers

I had one today to have my bastard mirena replaced.

It wasn't fun but it was over quickly and actually not as bad as i anticipated. I was given diazepam which made not obe jot of difference. I was still bricking it due to horrendous experience with gp fitting previous coil.

Im not gonna lie i am really uncomfortable now and i came on to ask if that is normal.
I suspect it is and paracetamol is helping

Yes i didn’t find the actual hysteroscopy painful at all. When she took the biopsies from my womb that hurt a bit.
I did too have a bit of after pain which I thought was the biopsies more than anything. They told me after pain was normal but a bit of ibuprofen and paracetamol sorted it.
