I went back to normal pretty quickly after having my first child but I gave birth to my daughter December 2017 my Labour was very quick and she was a big baby 9 pound 4 oz 😱 when the Midwife checked me she said I only had a tiny labial tear and a small perennial tear and they would heal better without stitches. I was not checked again after this and sex to start off with was ok quite good actually then I stopped breastfeeding in October and started back on the pill and everything since then just feels strange. Having recently looked it looks as though my perineum should have been stitched, I barely have any left and feel quite open. Whilst having sex it feels as though one wrong move and my vagina and bum could become one. It feels as though there is no support towards the back of my vagina if that makes sense? I can feel very little during sex. My husband says everything feels the same but I’m not sure if he’s just trying to spare my feelings. I’ve been doing my pelvic floor exercises but this doesn’t seem to make any difference, I don’t have any incontinence issues. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any advice? Or know what it might be? I’m only 27 and not ready for my sex life to be over.

Please see your GP and ask to be referred to a gynaecologist who is an expert in pelvic floor health. You may benefit from surgery.

Often these things will heal well without stitches but not always - as pp said, gp then gynaecologist
