I think the scan technician said that they couldn't see any issues on mine at the time but that the Dr would take a proper look and get back to me. Good luck OP X

If it's normal they will usually say.
If anything abnormal the report will go back to the requester for them to tell you (I'm a gp so request a lot)

Mine showed me the screen and pointed out my polyps etc.
You can ask them to give their opinion.

I had once for cervix length and was told at the time what the results were x

I was told my ovaries were normal, my womb lining was thickened and was shown polyps on the screen during mine. And told me he would do a full report for the gynae who would go through in more detail with me.

It all depends on who does it.

I've heard of women being told nothing, but mine were all private with a consultant (privately) and I was told everything at the time.

Unless the person doing the scan is an expert, they will relay the images to a consultant.

Hi all,

Had both scans this afternoon, and was told I had multiple fibroids, which was what I suspected, and a relief that nothing more ominous was detected.

For those of you booked in for one, or who are curious, the procedure was a very easy examination.

The pelvic ultrasound was just the same as when you are pregnant, and was allowed to remain clothed. Took a couple of mins at the most.

For the vaginal ultrasound I was given a frontal gown and the nurse was very discrete. A probe was gently inserted and was totally painless and a far more pleasant experience than a smear.....went on for a about 4 mins.

They told me what they had seen there and then, and from what I understand also checked my ovaries too.

Thanks for all the replies.
