Is it normal to feel like this when ovulating?

Ovulating round about now and today I have felt really feeble - physically and emotionally. Couldn't do much at the gym - noticeably weaker than last week, and have been very weepy and emotionally fragile. Seems to happen every month and it's as bad as just before my period. No pain, just randy and feeling great for a day or 2 and then like an emotional crash.

I have been off the pill for a year, TTC number 2 (DS almost 3). Last time I got pregnant within 2 months so didn't really get to know my cycles properly. I had a miscarriage in July and I have noticed my symptoms have been worse since then - periods heavier, more extreme emotional swings during ovulation and a couple of days pre period.

Or could it just be my age - I'm 37 so maybe that's just how things go?

I loathe ovulation. Randy and then bloated, sore and knackered/feeble.

I suffer more with ovulation than I do with my actual period. Weepy, think everyone hates me. And I have a very strong pain when (I guess) it actually happening.

My period is annoying but ovulation affects me a lot more.

Glad it's not just me! Funny how we only ever hear about PMS.

The ladies who run the gym creche was commenting on how DS is late to be in nappies at nearly 3. I have felt shit about it all day and cried the rest of the morning. A much more extreme reaction than I would have had yesterday. Just wish I could get pregnant again so I can be done with periods!

Yes it’s always struck me as weird that it’s something no one else really says about! So much about pms etc. Some months I’m absolutely rock bottom mentally for the few days of ovulation and worry that I’m getting ill again (history of mh probs but nothing bad for a long time).

This has only happened to me after ds2 so there must have been some kind of hormonal shift then.

Fingers crossed for you Duggees, I suppose the only plus side is that you know you are ovulating which will be helpful to ttc.

I think TTC makes you so much more aware of your cycles but wonder too if age has an impact. I’m 39, been ttc for 3 years for DC2 and could happily shag anything around ovulation these days. (I do manage to just stick to DH though!)

I haven’t noticed mood changes but will be aware of that from now on... agree it’s not talked about so much.

Not sure how you're supposed to feel like shagging when your hormones are all over the place! Managed it on Thursday and am feeling much more on an even keel today so DH might get lucky tonight!

Well one unexpected upside to all this is that I was so shamed by the insinuations of the creche ladies yesterday that we are now on day 1 of potty training. Lots of bribes and praise and so far so good!
