Could this be endometriosis?

I'm 48. Periods still regular as clockwork, unfortunately. About 10 years ago I had a uterine polyp removed and a D&C. TMI but this last year my periods have been really clotty and heavy again, horrendously painful, to the extent I feel sick. No OTC painkillers help. The last 5 or 6 months my periods start and end with almost black blood, again very painful, heavy with very large clots. That's all bad enough, but the pain is almost constant. Like really bad period pain, but constant. I only have a day or 2 after my period ends when it's not really painful. Tops of legs have cramping pain too. I'm absolutely scunnered with it, but the doctor has a shrugging, it's your age attitude. Is it worth making an appointment do you think?

It could be endometriosis but there are a whole lot of other gynae issues it could be too.. Definitely push for a gynae referral as it's wears you down being in pain constantly. Good luck.

Endometriosis cannot be ruled out here. It is certainly worth seeking an appointment and do not ever accept an "its your age" attitude from them. I would also push for a gynae referral.

BTW I remember well the cramping pains at the top of my legs; in my case this was also due to endometriosis aggravating the sciatic nerve.

Thank you. I'm going to make an appointment.
