Obvious name change...
I'm pretty sure I have a rectocele. In fact I know I have.
My youngest child is almost 4, I'm in my late 30s and I am not prepared to live the rest of my life dealing with this. I cannot believe that 9 times out of 10 if I want to make sure my bowels have emptied I have to manually evacuate the faeces that has got 'stuck' in the rectocele. If I have to have a bowel movement outside of home it's awful, because I can't exactly do that in a work or public toilet and then I spend the rest of the day until I can get home feeling uncomfortable and knowing that there will probably be some mess on my underwear.
Anyway, I'm making an appointment with the gp and I don't know what that's likely to lead to- I do my pelvic floor exercises and use suppositories when things are really bad and pay attention to my diet and try to sit with my knees higher than my hips on the loo and so on, so I'm hoping it will lead to more than being advised to do that!
Has anyone else been through this who would be willing to talk to me about what can be done?
