Hello, long post... but can anyone help me with similar experiences and any advice!? I was diagnosed with SPD at 14 weeks pregnant, then my pelvis split open during the birth: very quick first stage, dilated in a couple of hours - supposed to have water birth but midwives didnt believe I was ready to push so I was left in a room for hours and threatened being sent home with no pain relief until it was too much and a midwife gave me g&a, checked me to find i was fully dilated, panicked because i was GBS positive, got one lot of antibiotics into me thru IV, but left me on my back pushing for 3.5 hours!!! ending up with feet in stirrups. Eventually heard & felt 2 loud cracks and out beautiful baby boy came - average weight & head size. 2nd degree tear so back in stirrups for half an hour. Immense pain and disability afterwards then 36 hours later the finding of xray was symphysis pubis diastasis of 5cm! Given pelvic binder and crutches on day 4, discharged day 5 with no follow up plan. Seen 6 months later by Orthopaedics saying youre fine, go do pilates & swimming! Bladder & Bowel irritation consistent. Back of pelvis never scanned. Pain at the back is constant and I take cocodamol. Referred to another hospital by GP 10 months on who say it hasnt healed (xrayed) and potentially facing huge surgery to plate and fuse my pelvis but surgeon hasnt done this operation before and tell me its very rare! They want to CT scan first as MRI and Xray havent shown enough.
