How successful are uterine prolapse operations?

I'm due one this autumn and bricking it to be frank. Single mum and self employed so panicking about the recovery time but also really worried about it it goes wrong or if it doesn't work properly or any other unforeseen circumstances I hadn't factored in.

Has anyone here had one? Has it helped? Has it improved the quality of your life? Can you successfully DTD as a result? I'm almost wondering whether to just live with it even though it's so miserable living with it.

There was a long and detailed thread on this on the general health forum- under a title like 'Any old prolapse...'

Have a search under 'advanced' and topics by putting in key words..
I had the repair done 25 years ago. It was okay but you do need 6 weeks of rest, no lifting, no driving and the more careful you are the better the long term outcome.
