Recurring thrush - menopause?

I'm currently on my fourth bout of thrush in two months. I've never suffered from it before.
There doesn't seem to be an obvious cause - No change in toiletries / washing powder / loo roll / cotton undies / no tight fitting jeans etc.
For the first two I took over the counter oral tablet and used external cream.
Third time I went to the gp who prescribed a 7 day course of same tablet and cream.
Fourth time different gp has prescribed same tablet again but only a single.
Swabs were taken last time and confirmed thrush so no doubt.
Not had sex in yonks 🙁 so not being reinfected by partner.
So, could this be due to menopause? Send to be every 3ish weeks - I'm 45 and have a mirena coil so don't have periods but when I did it was a short cycle. Gp has said the only way I'll know if menopause is when I get hot flushes which sounds a bit ridiculous.
Any suggestions welcome as its driving me mad.

Not much advice, but bumping for you. Regarding menopause, your GP should be able to test your hormone levels which is an indicator of where you are in the menopause phase.

Something must be causing the thrush, so I think you need to be persistent with your GP. I wonder, if rather than recurring as such, the original bout has never fully been eradicated, and has been lying low then flaring up from time to time?

Thanks for replying. It could be the original infection I guess, the recurrence seems to be at regular intervals which would fit.

It might sound silly, but did your GP test you for diabetes? Recurrent thrush is one of the things you get when your blood sugar is high, as it would be with undiagnosed diabetes, so it might be worth asking to be tested, if only to rule it out. Hope you get it sorted, it's miserable Flowers

Sorry forgot to mention that - yes blood test booked for next week (earliest appt). I did have a urine test for diabetes last time and it was fine.
