Baby Jackdaw

Noticed 3 jackdaws circling the same area all day today in my back garden and tonight noticed what I think is a fledgling on the ground. From googling what they look like I'm almost certain its a juvenile. It can get it's wings out and almost flutter a metre or so. Is this normal? I'm worried it's injured. Also worried it's not injured but the foxes might (probably) will get it later.

I get birds doing this in my garden, and usually its parents will be nearby and it’s just in its training phase. Probably having a rest.

Very normal for a jackdaw fledgeling to spend a few days on the ground as it's learning to fly.
Parents are noticeably nearby.
Leave well alone.

Yeah I've not done anything with it. Just wanted to check before I start worrying! Although I probably will knowing the foxes will be making an appearance soon

They will know to stay completely still at night, to avoid the attention of the foxes. I'm sure it'll be fine.

No more squawking Jackdaws this morning so I'm telling myself the young one flew away!

Yay! Fledgeling can usually fly a bit but need practice for sustained flight. Hopefully family have all moved on 🤞👍

Probably on someone's chimney pot as we speak (type)!
