My husband found an injured pigeon on our doorstep this morning. Think it has a broken wing, he put it in a plastic box with some grass cuttings and bowl of water to try and make it comfortable and left it on the porch so it's in the shade, we can't bring it in cos we have an indoor cat. I am concerned for its welfare as there are several cats in our neighbourhood (not all of them are indoor only like ours) and we have also seen foxes in the past. Is there anything we can do to look after it? I have never cared for a wild animal or bird before and unsure how to shelter it from predators and maximise its chance of survival. I suggested calling the RSPB but my DH said according to their website they are conservation not rescue, is it worth trying the RSPCA?
