Mayor, dd1 is reading SVH and SVT (my old ones) and she is 9. I was suye I was older than that when I read them.
She loves them

it is good yeah, I enjoyed it and gave it to my mum to read. when i told her who it was about she didnt believe me. lol

Yes it's long and yes it's good but I did feel it weakened the closer it got to the end and the last section was actually pretty poor.

More than anything else though I can't believe the author got away with it. It's SO clearly based on characters in real life yet the result of the key event on which most of the books rests is not.

Am reading American wife at the moment, enjoying so far.

'Prep' I thought had it's moments and some wonderful observations. I started off reading it thinking, i'm going to love this, but ultimately i grew to really dislike the protaganist and what happenend at the end didn't quite work for me.

Hope American Wife doesn't disappoint!

I just finished it, and loved it. I thought it was a terribly clever idea, and really well done. Compared to Prep, which I enjoyed, I thought American Wife was vastly superior and much more ambitious and mature.

It is long, but well-paced. I read it over two days, staying up late last night to finish it (always a good sign).

Also, i loved her observations on love, marriage and parenthood so much that I earmarked these sections.
