What book keeps or has kept you reading into the night, when you're exhausted and just need to sleep! Tell me, tell me! x

I'm sure it will have been mentioned already, but mine was The Secret History by Donna Tartt.

Also, Capricorn One. Don't know who it was written by, it was made into a film, I couldn't put that one down.

Nowadays I can put any book down when the urge to sleep is upon me!

My then bf bought me Perfume by Patrick Süskind.
I loved it and couldn't put it down. I guess he was woo'ing me... it worked - he's now my DH.

Another vote for The Secret History and Tell No One.

Recently, One Day by David Nicholls

Also, The Beach, Alex Garland (when I was young . . .) and Riders, Jilly Cooper (when I was really young!)

Tully by paulina simons. amazing, really makes you go through every emotion possible. have read it before and after becoming a mother and it touches your soul.
also, the girl with dragon tattoo, played with fire and kicked the hornets nest books are utterly compelling. harlen coben books are all good too.. esp good for beach/pool side reading.

Jodi Picoult is an amazing auther-anything she writes has me enthralled for hours! I was so disappointed when I'd read them all and now eagerly await all of her new releases!

However the name of this thread reminded me of 2 books I read repeatedly until I lost them, the first is Snow Gods by Herbert Burkholz-it's a beautifully written story about generations of a family who are completely intertwined throughout the story-I cannot do it justice at all! Really moving!

Number2 is 'virgins of paradise' By Barbera Wood! Again just another complex story with lots of heartwarming and heartbreaking stories!

Oh-and i've just remembered 'meet me under the ombu tree' Santa Montefiore (I've just noticed the author is called Santa-is this a common name in places?). I was quite young when I read this-17/18 and I read it in one sitting and completely broke my heart-it's a great story!

Could go on about 'good books' for hours-but these 3are the ones which I won't ever forget!

Off I go to Google the suggestions so far-and to order the 3 I've mentioned-forgot how much I loved them....thanks op!
