its just occurred to me that since i stopped my daily commute to work (i now work locally for the time being) that i no longer read!

i used to absolutely love my reading time on the train. hated the commute but loved my read. i got through more books in that year than any other time in my life, and i really am missing it but i no longer seem to be able to find the time to just sit for an hour a day and read.

cant read in bed as DH works nights and goes really early. if im down stairs im either on here or doing housework.

when do you all find the time to read?

My reading has gone up since I came back to work - I finished 49 books last year and read more in November/December once I was back. I've finished 73 books so far this year.

At breakfast, on the way to work on the 10 minute tube journey, lunchtime, on the way home, and I've started to read more in the evening again.

elkiedee - 73 books so far this year! Huge Respect!! I would struggle to get through those in 2 years! Bet you can make some good recommendations though?!

I used to read on the commute and got through loads of books. One year I kept a record and read over 300.
When I had babies a lot of reading got done whilst breastfeeding on the sofa. However I lost my night time read as the light on in the bedroom disturbed the baby in moses basket next to bed.
Now I have to have my 15mins to 45 mins in bed before going to sleep. Sometimes I will sit and read during the day if a book is particularly gripping.
Just got another Robert Goddard out of the library. Can't wait.

At the table, on the loo, in the bath, in the car, (when stationary!) in bed, any time any place, if there isn't a book about my person, I feel naked! Now I have an iPhone, I have a great audiobook app, full of classics, I even listen when I am driving and working!

On the loo, in the bath, while ignoring the housework. I try not to read at the table (setting a good example to ds).

I have been known to read while cooking; which is why DH now does the cooking - burnt saucepans cause him psychic pain, but don't really worry me.

And best of all, on long haul flights. I seek out good solid stuff for flights, as it is the one time I can really concentrate, and need to disassociate myself from what is going on!

I can't read in the car - I get carsick. I listen to radio 4 or songs with good words instead.
