Unusually, I haven't got any books! I normally get several, so I don't have things lined up to read. I've been dropping a few in an Amazon basket in case I didn't get them for Christmas, so I think it's nearly time to press [proceed to checkout]!

I have been reading/will read some of dh's and ds1's books though too.

swanriver · 27/12/2009 14:25

Well I bought Dh Lustrum by R Harris and Brooklyn by Toibin, am looking forward to reading them
No-one gave me any either...

MrsMuddle · 27/12/2009 14:26

I got Sea of Poppies, cellist of Sarajevo and The Other Hand.

Almost finished TOH and looking forward to starting Sea of Poppies tonight.

purpleturtle · 27/12/2009 14:30

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Girl who played with Fire
Wolf Hall

Given the sheer size of that last tome, I shan't need another for some time!

Southwestwhippet · 27/12/2009 14:47

My sister bought me the rest of the Lucia (EF Benson) collection - very happy as I only had the first two books, now have all siz .

Also my grandma-in-law bought me "Under the Dome" which is Stephen King's latest.

Wanted some 'light' early labour reading plus things to dip in and out of when baby is small so these are perfect.

MiaWallace · 27/12/2009 20:47

I got the true blood collection. Trying to race through the current book I'm reading so I can get started on them.

SolidGoldpiginablanket · 27/12/2009 22:21

I got:
Pandaemonium by Christopher Brookmyre (Squee! Squee! My favourite author)
The two newest Phil Rickman novels
Stephen King's After Sunset
And a biography of Dennis Wheatley.

I am very happy. And MN might be seeing a bit less of me over the next week or two.

StrictlyKatty · 27/12/2009 22:29

DuchessOfAvon · 28/12/2009 14:25

I didn't get a single book.

I really hoped that someone would get me Wolf Hall. Very that it didn't materialise. I shall have to put in a request at the library.

I read Theft by Peter Carey courtesy of the local charity shop and I enjoyed it. He is one of those authors I have to psych myself up to read but do actually get a lot from once I have made the effort.

littlerach · 28/12/2009 14:47

Just been and bought
The Bolter and
The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

tillyfernackerpants · 28/12/2009 14:59

I got Stephen King's Under the Dome and Me Cheetah: The Autobiography. I really wanted the Sookie Stackhouse books as well!

Dh admitted that the Cheetah book he quite fancied reading himself which is why he bought it, I think he realised he made a bit of a mistake there! So I went to Waterstones & got the first couple of SS books to get started!

Trikken · 28/12/2009 15:11

The Subtle Knife.-philip pullman

Wheelybug · 28/12/2009 16:12

Little Rach - I loved the reluctant fundamentalist. Also the Bolter was pretty good !
