...an 11yo boy that likes Horowitz etc? has anyone read these that knows the suitability please?
I try to get him to read more age suitable stuff, but he finds them boring after Alex Ryder...He's getting Crocodile Tears and has read most of the others and I want to get him some more reading material. The only thing I'd really like to omit from any potential books is sex really.
He's a voracious reader.
I'd be grateful for advice please.

The titles are:

The Grim Reaper
The Elixir of Death
Fear in the Forest
The Awful Secret
The Tinners Corpse
The Poisoned Challenge
Figure of Hate
The Witch Hunter
Crowners Quest
The Sanctuary Seeker

Sorry don't know this author. There are reviews on this website though

My 11 year old DS is also a Horowitz fan. He also likes Robert Muchamore's Cherub series and the Chris Ryan Alpha Force series. These are both aimed at 11 to 13 I would say.

He's currently reading Isobel Allende's Forest of the Pygmies which is actually an adult book, but the librarian who had read it said there was no "adult" content.

No, I would say they are not really suitable. Professor Bernard Knight was a home office pathologist, indeed, my MIL knew him very well in his day. His books are similar to Patricia Cornwell and I would say therefore that they would be too violent, graphic etc for an 11 year old - plus they probably wouldn't really comprehend the detail...?
