I've tried without success to find one for my daughter. How old are your children and what type of books are you thinking about?

Sorry all. I stopped watching when I didn't get any replies. My dd is 13 and quite an avid reader. She loves fantasy books and books about refugees, etc. But she'd read almost anything. I just wondered if there was anything out there similar to the mumsnet book club. Could possibly have different age groups. I suppose we could start one Marslady if enough people were interested. What do you think? I'll have a look at the one you've found soap.

I'd be interested if we do start our own. Ds is 11 and wanders the house looking for new books to read like he roams the kitchen looking for stuff to eat. In fact dh has started him on John Wyndham and our other old copies of sci-fi.

Dd is 7 and less hungry but then she has all ds' books to go through.

tummermum, you could try The Book Group Online , while not specifically a children's book club, young people with an interest in books would be made more than welcome. The club is in its infancy at the moment but has the potential to grow and be fun!

Thanks Demented, I'll have a look at that. The Red House one looks good but appears to be for 9-12s which is a bit young for my dd. Tiddlypom, what sort of books does your ds read (apart from sci-fi that is)? Unlike yours, my ds was very reluctant to read at that age but we got him onto the Hal and Roger books by Willard Price and the Redwall books (forget who wrote them)or has he been through all those already? If he likes sci-fi and he's a competent reader he could try Jules Verne or HG Wells.

He really likes Anthony Horowitz - the Alex Rider series - and Lemony Snicket; and any books that are to do with computers, eg fantasy gaming and the Golem series by the Murail siblings here ; he also likes dragons to be involved. Doesn't like Michael Morpurgo or anything that aims to be educational eg about history.
