MissWooWoo · 07/10/2009 17:37

I have it in the house!

If only I had a fairy godmother who would feed, bath and put my child to bed. That kitchen floor might have to wait another week too

I am half way through and really enjoying it!

gagamama · 26/10/2009 11:00

I loved it! And will try and fit in a trip to Highgate Cemetery at some point to see if the mausoleums mentioned really exist.

I must try and source a copy of TTW - I started to read it when it first came out in about 2004 (?) but managed to lose my copy before I'd finished it. I don't remember enjoying that as much as I enjoyed Her Fearful Symmetry, though.

bluejeans · 26/10/2009 15:28

I splashed out on the hardback to take on holiday last week and couldn't get into it at all - anyone else agree? Was so disappointed - ended up reading Nick Hornby (library book) instead. Will persevere now I'm home, having spent the money!

girlsyearapart · 26/10/2009 16:29

I've just finished- couldn't resist buying the hardback!

Really enjoyed it but it was nothing like TTW.

Sign of a good author I guess.

Also like to go to Highgate cemetery now!

MissWooWoo · 26/10/2009 16:39

I'm about 2/3 of the way through.

I don't like it as much as ttw but it is very different isn't it? My reading of it has been quite disjointed so I'm sure that's had something to do with my level of enjoyment. Am eager to finish to find out what happens so that's always a good sign.

Good - I will carry on - girlsyearapart think you're right about it being the sign of a good author if their books are all very different - would've been interesting to see how this one would've done if it was published first though
