What a brilliant book it is.

I chose it as it has been mentioned so much on here, so thanks!

Apart from everything else, I loved it that it mentioned Robertson Davies with such insight and affection.

Really looking forward to reading some more of his now.

I LOVE John Irving - and my favourites are A Widow for One Year, Hotel New Hampshire and The Cider House Rules, but I have never, ever been able to stick with Owen Meany, I really don't know why - it upsets me greatly. It glowers out at me from the bookshelf. Feeling guilty.

I'm with squeaver, Widow is my favourite too. Somehow I could empathise with the characters more. I still don't turn my steering wheel when I'm waiting to turn right at a junction!
