We are still skint so I was not expecting any exciting presents but he thought it would save him money as it is preloaded with books. Sadly they are all gcse types and i have discovered how to download new books to it! I love it, i am so excited. Had to share.

My only criticism (well apart from the price) is that I would be terrified to use it in the bath which is where I do a lot of my reading!

DH bought me one at the airport at Christmas when he saw me looking at it, he said, I nearly bought you one for your birthday, but wasn't sure ( he bought me somethong even more unique)

My only hesitation is it is only pc compatible and we have only Apple macs, so until I find some ssoft ware,so I will have to get DD to bring her work laptop home occasionally.

I didn't know that. Did you mean he bought you some thong (how exciting!) or some thing?

But you don't get the feel and the smell and the sound of a book....

Is it worth getting the cover with the light? I would love to be able to read in bed with the lights off .. that way if I fall asleep it doesn't matter. I still haven't downloaded any from waterstones - I tried on the first day I got it and obviously did something wrong so have been reading the freebie classics. Has anyone downloaded from anywhere else?

Nonickname posted that s/he had one. Think i might invest as we often have to drive for 12 hours in a row. Haven't tried anywhere else - did you load all the software that came with it as you need to have Adobe Digital Editions before youm can download stuff?

I thought I had downloaded it all but will definitely check again. I am enjoying some of the classics but would love to try something current!

You can check by linking the reader to the PC with the cable, then you go to library and click on the e-reader icon to see if it is there. I also dble check in the library books to see if the same amount of memory is used for the book in the library and the same book in the ereader (iyswim)
