How dare they advertise Tony Parsons on the Adult Fiction board topics?

I HATE his plodding old crap.

All that shoite about the sisters and their experiences of having or not having children. It's RUBBISH.

Go away.

Thank you.

don't like him either here..but I do like John O'Farrell.

SummerLightning · 19/09/2008 14:00

he's also appeared at the top of the screen as well as the side now (or was it always in both)
I think they're winding us up now....

JustineMumsnet · 19/09/2008 14:03

He's coming on for an online chat. (I'm not kidding )

midnightexpress · 19/09/2008 14:04

Oh dear. Poor man.

OP posts:
Buda · 19/09/2008 14:05

No he isn't Justine! He may have been but not now!

JustineMumsnet · 19/09/2008 14:08

I fear some "unforseen circumstances" coming on like Schezza's .
No Tony'll be fine - he's been married to J Burchill for goodness sake.

wabbit · 19/09/2008 14:20

Never heard of him

squeaver · 19/09/2008 14:23

As if marriage to Burchill is any preparation for the legendary nest of vipers.

Does UnquietDad know he's coming? Maybe he could do an instant spoof of his answers on another thread.

squeaver · 19/09/2008 14:23

Feck. Just realised it's Jon Ronson he takes the piss out of

MrsMuddle · 19/09/2008 15:00

When he comes for the online chat, we should greet him with silence. We should ignore him completely and see if that removes a layer of smugness.

Tumbleweed....

MrsMattie · 19/09/2008 15:03

He's a smug git and his books are shite and I believe every piece of posion good old Burchill has ever spouted about him! .

Seriously, I can't stand the tosser.

Marina · 19/09/2008 15:03

Give us plenty of notice, so we can marshal our arguments about the facile and derivative nature of his books in good time eh Justine

MrsMattie · 19/09/2008 15:04

p.s.

charitas, that is the the most accurate description of Parsons I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

Full marks to you.

pigleto · 19/09/2008 15:14

vile smug whining man. he thorougly deserved the burchil and you can't say that about many men.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/09/2008 16:27

Marina - hello ! have just finished the Jonathan Coe (The Rain before it falls...) really liked it
and yes, charitas' description is perfect !

janeite · 19/09/2008 19:19

Lol Pigleto: I agree; he and JB totally deserved each other. And Moondog: god yes; can you imagine what it would sound like when they had a row, or even worse (shudder) exchanged sweet nothings? Ugh!

CaptainNancy · 19/09/2008 22:17

Hmm, Tony Parsons live mnchat? I foresee an even more hilarious 'question' thread than SG's. Bring it on

Ronaldinhio · 19/09/2008 22:27

Parsons now writes an article for GQ each month extoling the virtues of "real man" stuff like boxing and "hitting people on the street whilst acting manly".

What a gloriously rounded creature he is, on the one hand being able to get in touch with his feminine side so easily..on the other posturing and preening in GQ about "real man" issues

I wish he really did bleed for a week a month, every month

elkiedee · 19/09/2008 22:34

I thought his first novel was really boring, I haven't picked up any of the others.

JustineMumsnet · 19/09/2008 23:25

So we'll take that as a thumbs up all round then?

bundle · 20/09/2008 23:34

I saw him a while back having a meal in a tiny noodle bar in camden. boy did he look miserable

cyteen · 27/09/2008 11:05

Not for nothing did Viz dub him Tony Parsehole.

Troutpout · 27/09/2008 14:09

You know that his wife/girlriend is going to come on soon and get all uppity about us dissing her man don't you
Remember Mrs Ronson?

BitOfFun · 27/09/2008 14:20

No, I missed that Troutpout, what happened? Got a link - sounds v. funny!

Troutpout · 27/09/2008 18:07

Think it's in mn classics..will go and have a look for you
