I recently bought Enduring Love and thought of taking that.
And maybe something trashy and exciting. The new Lee Child.
But also I would like a classic too.

For a classic, I don't think you can beat "Pride And Prejudice".

I agree but I have read it once a year since I was 15. It doesn't qualify as a holiday read.

I re-read it every summer holiday OR every Christmas holiday

What kind of thing DO you want then?

I like to have a mix.
Say:
A classic (increasingly hard to find)
A couple of books I've been meaning to read but didn't get round to when everyone was talking about. Booker shortlist type book.
Something escapist
Non fiction

That, to me, is the perfect holiday package.

So I'm thinking Enduring Love as the been meaning to read book. And something else.
And the others are up for grabs.

Oh dear, I've never realised till now how my holiday reading follows a pattern.

For the escapist, have you read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman?

Maybe "Brideshead Revisted" for the classic?

Some Bill Bryson for the non-fiction?

I haven't read Bryson's History of Everything and it doesn't really appeal but I've read everything else on that list. Might try The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist which was mentioned on your other thread.
