I posted on a here a while ago looking for advice about scholarships to independent schools. Someone advised I should read a book and what can I say? I bought it and it was incredible.

Why Can't My Child Do That? is the story of a man who was let down by the education system, then as an adult developed a method of learning who used for his own kids when he had them. this book tells what he did, how it was so successful his son was auditioned for a scholarship at Eton ( I won't ruin the end), and who also worked in schools to discover how they teach.

If you think you know what goes on in you children's classroom, you don't! This book reveals all. Well worth a read, but be prepared - you might want to take your children out of school once you've read it!

Is that you, Geoff Bagwell?

So this is one man's experience of schools after working as a piano teacher and then a short career as a TA, presumably some time ago?

You sound a bit dismissive of a book you've never read. This book has totally changed the way I see schools and education. Before I bought it I read the free sample on Amazon. Worth a look before you judge.

I wish it was. Then my kids would have achieved what this man did for his.
