Currently ready The Surrogate Mother and really enjoying it! I have Never Lie and Do Not Disturb next on the reading list.

TwisterSpice · 17/08/2026 08:58

The Teacher was brilliant. I also liked Ward D and The Coworker.

They all suck me in but after you've read a few, you've read them all and I can't remember very much about the plots! Which is not to say that they aren't entertaining reads! But it looks like her next book, The Witch, will have some supernatural elements to it, which is a bit of a departure.

They're all on Kindle Unlimited so I'd recommend getting that if you haven't already. Amazon frequently do a 3 months for free offer.

I’ve read almost all of them and they’re very hit or miss for me, I think the best are Housemaid 1&2, Do Not Disturb, The Locked Door, The Intruder, and Dear Debbie. I really didn’t like The Teacher or Never Lie.

A bit like pp, I can’t remember much about them after I’ve finished. I haven’t read any with my eyes (😆) but have listened to loads of the audiobooks on the Libby app. They all blend into one big memory of enjoyable, twisty plots that don’t require an excess of brain power. Must check if there are any more available. The woman’s prolific!

I would avoid The Surrogate Mother - absolutely terrible. Dear Debbie was ok. I've read a few of hers as they are nice, easy holiday reads but I would struggle to pick many out as pp says they all blend into one.

I picked up a stack on vinted for our recent holiday which was handy.

I liked dear Debbie and ward d. I'm really struggling to get in to the divorce. Really I've been alternating between Freida McFadden and Alice Feeney books

She must produce a book every 6 months or so? On top of that she's also a doctor who specialises in brain injuries. I don't know where she finds the time!

Ward D was really good!

Greebocat · 21/08/2026 19:56

The Boyfriend, definitely one her best ones. Read most of her books, they seemed to be either brilliant, or a bit meh.

WellMaybeYouShouldntBeLivingHeeeeeeee · 21/08/2026 20:01

Isn’t she a notorious plagiarist of plots from older books? I’ve never read her but I read an article about her a while back, and it was kind of odd so I googled her and ended up somewhere … Reddit maybe? … where they were discussing this.

If true, I guess it would explain the combination of rapid delivery and compelling plots, yet forgettable overall books.

Pistachiocake · 21/08/2026 22:17

All great-Baby City was a bit different, but I liked it, and the Dinner Party is a different style (choose your own adventure).
Maybe read them in order now, some follow on, most don't.

The only trouble is I can't find another writer like her, everyone says try XYZ, but though they might be domestic thrillers,, they're all more negative/gloomy-I like her humour.

trebeco · 21/08/2026 23:35

I read one and I genuinely wondered if it was written by AI.

I've read The Housemaid and The Boyfriend and they were both so shit but I couldn't stop reading 😂

Read first two Housemaid books but not sure I’m going to bother with the third. Just find them a tad drawn out and boring. Thankfully got them on Kindle unlimited. Shan’t bother with any others of hers.
