Favourite Lisa Jewell thrillers and other thriller recommendations?

Reading 'invisible girl' at the moment and before that read 'dont let him in'. I never read a thriller before having my twins 2 years ago and now I love them, they're just pure escapism! I've read most of Lisa Jewells thrillers now....favourites were 'the night she disappeared" and "watching you'. Wasn't that keen on "and then she was gone' or 'the family upstairs' but still quite enjoyable.
I also really love Ruth Ware.
What are your favourite Lisa jewell thrillers or just thrillers in general? And different authors you would recommend?

These all look so good 🙂
@Skatefordinner im glad your daughter is doing better. My girls were preemies so in nicu for a while and I think labour and birth just messed me up mentally and emotionally for a while! Had my daughters in the summer and first book I read after having them was the night she disappeared, read it around Christmas time and I remember feeling so happy to feel normal again and to manage to read a whole book!
@firstofallimadelight @Yikes101 can you recommend a good Adelle parks? I read one about winning the lottery....can't remember the name though. I liked it but not enough to read any of her others.

Lisa Jewell is one of my favourite authors-Shari Lapena and Karin Slaughter are similarly brilliant.

Following with interest as I'm currently attempting to write my first novel writing a thriller 😁 so it is very useful to find out what people really like.

I really liked Women Last Seen and first wives shadow.

i like Adele parks early stuff (which was more chick lit) and her thrillers but then every so often she will do a family drama type book and they are not as good unfortunately.

None of this is True is a brilliant LJ book. My favourite author is Anna Lou Weatherley, I have enjoyed every single one of her books & highly recommend if you like crime thriller novels

Minniliscious · Yesterday 22:00

One hit wonder is definitely one of her best. I read it years ago but still remember it.

PrancingPanda · Yesterday 22:12

'Then she was gone'
'The truth about Melody Browne'
'The girls in the garden'
All worth a read

I would love to do that! I fear all my ideas would be based on something i had already read, or a combination of books i've read if that makes sense.

@candyfloss06 i reread all the early Nicci French books a couple of years ago, they were so good and just what I needed at the time.

Just to let you know that Audible have several of Anna Lou Weatherley's Dan Riley series available for free at the moment.

I love her too, None of this is true was good, maybe try The Other Mothers by Katherine Faulkner. I’m going to work my way through these suggestions.

I love Nikki French’s books. Also love Lisa Jewell, Andrea Mara, Catherine Steadman and TM Logan!

Yes, definitely agree, these two writers are excellent. Also really enjoy Nicci French (especially the earlier novels from them)

I love the earlier books too, and love that they were written before smartphones and internet was such a huge part of life, somehow it makes it nostalgic not having references to social media etc.

They are brilliant aren’t they. I have kept all the Nicci French books, but I often go back to the earlier ones for a repeat read and they are excellent.

Completely agree. No mention of smartphones in the earlier books, the sense of time and place was also top class in these books. Ingenious they way they wrote separate chapters and then sent them to each other to review!

Noelle Ihli is very good! I can't put hers down. Apologies if already mentioned.

The premise is (very) loosely based on something a former work colleague once told me about something that actually happened in real life. It has been quietly lurking in my brain for decades. The murders and the come-uppance are my invention though. 😂
