Any Sarah J Maas fans up for a discussion thread ahead of ACOTAR 6?

I've just finished the third Crescent City book and want to talk about it.

Any Sarah J Maas fans around so I don't have to go to Reddit or some random FB group?

I've read all three series now - ACOTAR first and then Throne of Glass.

TOG is by far my favourite of the three, although Bryce is my favourite lead.
For me ACOTAR is by far the weakest, both in world building and characterisation - Feyre is good, but Aelin and Bryce are much better female leads.

Loved the cross over in CC3 though and am quite looking forward to ACOTAR 6 now - although I really do hope Bryce makes an appearance in it!

Crescent City was my favourite out of the three series. I know a lot of people find the first book overwhelming but I think once you push past the intense initial world building, I think its a great series.

Like you, I hope we see more of Bryce. I think ACOTAR is the easiest of the series to get into and i felt that was better than TOG as Aelin frustrated me a bit in parts!

Sorry, edited as I got excited and pressed send before i had finished! 😂

I don't understand why people have a hard time with the first CC book - it grabbed me from the start. I've just binge read all three in a week 😂

I like Aelin more than Feyre but found she was a bit too arrogant, selfish and humourless at times but I did like her ability to think three steps ahead. That's why I prefer Bryce - she seems a lot more down to earth and her humour is brilliant.

Hunt, Rhun and Ithan are better than Rowan, Dorian and Chaol as well

I did prefer the world building of TOG though - the vastness of it and the peril and decisions that needed to be made as a result of the distances.

For me, ACOTAR feels a lot simpler - it leans more towards the romantic side of romantasy, whereas I prefer the politics, scheming and twists of the fantasy!

I should not have clicked as I haven't even met Bryce yet! Finished Acotar a couple of weeks ago. Now up to Queen of Shadows. I'm really enjoying the escapism and it's got my reading mojo back on track.

@fruitpastille - I'm a bit jealous you are getting the read ToG and will get to read Crescent City for the first time

Ooh me! I've just finished CC so I've now read all of her work. My one critique of CC was how everything came back to Danika. Like she was this 'easy get out' for any loose plot threads. I'm hoping there will be a 4th CC in the near future because there were a few things left open, like Ithan saying the female wolf smelt different and the storyline with Tharion and the Dragon.

I LOVED the first two Acotar but then the rest tailed off for me. My favourite series overall was probably TOG but I did really enjoy CC.

I think my favourite female character was Manon. I'd love a spin off about her and the prince (his name escapes me because I finished TOG last summer.

I know it's a completely different author but im reading The Boys of Tommen series atm and will start Fourth Wing next.

I've already booked the day off work for when the next Acotar comes out. Im going to drive to my local Waterstones that morning to get a copy, buy a coffee and come home to spend the day reading!
