Looking for some recommendations please! Doesn’t necessarily have to be murder but crime would be good 😂

William Shaw's Alexandra Cupidi series, set in Dungeness.

Belinda Bauer, some books are linked. Rubbernecker, Snap, and
Exit are standalone.

Series I’ve enjoyed are
Tom Thorne by Mark Billingham
Hawthorne and Horowitz by Anthony Horowitz
Harry Grimm by David Gatward
Wild Fens by Jack Cartwright
Lady Hardcastle by TE Kinsey
Lady Eleanor Swift by Verity Bright
Kate Shackleton by Frances Brody
Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear
Kinsey Milhone by Sue Grafton

Op do you like gritty/ grimy, cozy or everyday person has to deal with stalker etc etc? (I know that sounds weird😅)

They may be already mentioned but I highly recommend the Lord Peter Wimsey series. 🙂

Robert Galbraith ‘Strike’ novels are riveting and brilliantly written. I’ve just started No 8 ‘The Hallmarked Man’. Which explains why I’m so tried as I can’t put it down.

I'm going to recommend the Shardlake series by CJ Sansom (you can probably give the final one a miss).
They are historical mystery/thriller, I loved them

Agree that C J Sansom was very very good on the later years of Henry VIII.

Also agree on giving the last one a miss. It went on much too long, anyone who knows anything about the period knows how it will end, and Shardlake should have known better than to get involved as he did.

The Strike novels by Robert Galbraith and the Hawthorne and Horowitz ones by Anthony Horowitz are top tier detective series in my opion. Every one has kept me on the edge of my seat.

I like Peter May books - not to be confused with Peter James of Grace fame.

There is a series set on Lewis, and the Enzo McLeod séries set in France.

J D Kirk inspector Logan series is great ( read in order). Or the Inspector Maclean series by James Oswald also excellent. Both Scottish based but really good long series!

Love these. They are screamingly funny, in spite of the constant gore, and the spinoffs equally so. Love ex-Superintendant Hoon's character. So absurb and larger than life.

And I agree: MUST be read in order. Another big plus; Kirk keeps the books snappy and doesn't feel the need to add unnecessary padding in the form of mediocre descriptions or waffle. And where I live these are on on kindleunlimited.
