Abandoning books - life's too short

Last year I started an 'Abandoned ' shelf on my Goodreads account and it's about to get it's first 2026 addition.
It's The Fraud by Zadie Smith, it's my book club book. It's the first I've Abandoned in this incarnation of the group. I'm feeling slightly guilty as I know a couple of others have Abandoned it too.

Do you abandon or plough on?

I abandon these days - I’m late 40s. Couldn’t get on with The Goldfinch or the only Sarah Waters I have ever tried even though people rave about them here on MN. Loved CCM once I’d got through the first few chapters - but read it 20+ years ago so might not have got that far if I’d picked it up now!

Which Sarah Waters did you try? I don't love all of them.
