I have a free 3 month trial of KU but am struggling to find anything to read. I'm looking for easy reads that aren't vacuous drivel, if that makes sense. Notreally into crime but will consider it if there's nothing else.

I’ve got a free trial too so joining you here for recommendations. There’s appears to be a lot of fake AI type books available on Kindle Unlimited. I like crochet so was looking for crochet books, and there seems to be several using the same patterns and then others that seem to be AI generated without any real patterns.

I am a Kindle Unlimited member, I find it wel worth the money. I've always been into non-fiction, until recently when I discovered Miranda Rijks!
I seriously can't get enough of her style, she's an easy author to read, good twists and pretty good stories!
I'm nearly at the end of this one and I'll be swapping it for another of hers, although I think I may have nearly read them all!

John marrs. Some of his books are dystopian with a bit of crime thrown in. The one, the marriage act, passengers, the family experiment, minders

I too have KU for 3 months. I've been reading Dandy Smith, Frieda McFadden and John Marrs. There's a few Colleen hoover books on there. There is so much on there it just depends on what you like really

I love her books as well. I had to go and check, read four of hers. The last one is You Can Trust me which I loved. She has published over 20 books, I to am considering reading them all.

@MyChicZebra I know! I have to keep reading the description to see if I've read it or not! She's a good writer, she's got me back into fiction, which I never thought I'd do after all these years!
Only a tiny bugbear, but I've noticed she tends to latch onto a word, then use it quite a few times through the book! I'm trying to look past that now, as her books are still an excellent read!
I don't know about you, but I can sometimes work out the end, other times not!

That's amazing that you can work out the ending, I'm always shocked by her twists! I hadn't even noticed the repetitiveness. Attention to detail is definitely your super power😊I've checked my notes again, first book I read was Roses Are Red, but she also has one called Violets Are Blue. She's definitely into themes lol

MoonWoman69 · 03/08/2025 17:42

@MyChicZebra I'm reading Roses are Red now and I actually haven't worked anything out yet! Read a little bit this afternoon and I'm loving it!
I've actually written a couple of books myself, but mine are my own experiences of weird happenings in my life from being a small child. Paranormal, UFO etc. They're only small books, not big enough to print, so Kindle only!
I get my love of reading, good English skills and perfect wording from my lovely mum, who's no longer with us. She always said good writing was a skill that should never be lost. (This is why it saddens me that nobody writes letters any more! I used to love writing letters!) x x x

@MyChicZebra Deleted duplicate post! Don't know how it did that!

If you're a member of a library (or want to register) you can get borrowbox for free to download ebooks like you'd borrow physical books. There's far more choice and less of the low quality drivel.

Dave and Me by Lili Myers. Life with a Hairy Biker. I got it for 99p last week and started it today and finding it a nice easy read and interesting.
She is Romanian and it is the story of how they met, coming to UK and her life here until he died of cancer.
