Leeds novels - are there others than these?

Does anyone know of any novels set in Leeds - whether the city is acknowledged or thinly disguised? The ones I know are: National Provincial by Lettice Cooper, Facing the Music by her brother Leonard Cooper and Ring of Truth by Vernon Scannell. The last is the most fascinating to me because it presents the city as itself with real district and street names, and it's set in 1982 when I was myself a student in Leeds.

There's The Nightmare Stacks which is part of the Laundry Files series by Charles Stross. It's sort of comedy/horror/fantasy/sci fi, fun. Leeds is invaded, many real places mentioned.

Red Riding quartet by Andrew Peace is based in the West Ridinds, so not specifically Leeds but local.

Chris Nickson writes crime fiction set in Leeds. His Richard Nottingham series is set in the 18th century, just as Leeds was becoming a major urban and industrial centre. His descriptions of the city at the time are bleak; the poor are living lives of utter misery in the area around the Calls, while the rich are enjoying their palatial residences along the Headrow. His central protagonist, Constable Richard Nottingham seems absolutely crushed by the suffering around him.

Nickson's later series, set in the late 19th/early 20th centuries and featuring Tom Harper, a high-ranking Leeds bobby, pushes the geographical boundaries - poor people in the Leylands, rich people in Chapeltown (but even then, they were beginning to gravitate northwards to Moortown.) Also very harsh; most people are still living awful lives, but modernity is making some things a little easier. Leeds has electricity, trams and Kirkgate Market. And there are suffragettes!

There's a historical, cosy mystery series by Frances Brody in which the main character,Kate Shackleton, lives in Leeds.
A Woman Unknown and Death of an Avid Reader are set in Leeds. Other books in the series are set in other places in Yorkshire including Harrogate, Settle and Saltaire.

Are Barbara Taylor Bradford's books set in Leeds (or Leeds under another name)?

I've never read any of hers and just know they are strong woman, best seller type books.

IIRC she went to school with Alan Bennett. Who, although these are not novels of course, has written many books about his life and his family with Leeds heavily featured.

The List of Suspicious Things is set in a smaller fictional West Yorkshire town, not in Leeds.

I know of 3 or 4 crime series set in other West Yorkshire towns, mostly under slightly different names - by Val McDermid, Patricia Hall, Robert Barnard and Stuart Pawson. Peter Robinson's Alan Banks series is mostly set in a fictitious Yorkshire Dales town (North Yorkshire) but there are visits to Leeds.

As well as her Kate Shackleton crime novels, Frances Brody has written some other historical novels set in Leeds, originally published under her name Frances McNeil but then republished under her pseudonym Brody when she became better known under that name.

There's a historical novel by Robert Dinsdale, one of his first, set in Leeds in wartime.
