Fluffy light hearted chick lit

Real life is entirely too much for me right now so I need some reading to escape. I need very light hearted chick lit recommendations please. No death, no sadness, mild peril is ok but nothing more than mild. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read for years but used to enjoy the Sophie Kinsella Shopaholic books, also enjoyed The Nanny Diaries. Have read the original Bridget Jones and have no interest in the newer ones. I enjoyed Catherine Alliott back in the day. Didn't like the first Jilly Cooper (huge horse lover and had to sling it in recycling when RCB beat his horse) but thought Rivals was much better. No Marian Keyes, she's marvellous but even her storylines are a bit too deep, not fluffy enough right now. No murder mysteries or anything crime please.

I have googled and browsed Amazon but nothing is grabbing me. Please help! Thank you

Why not try Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day? Very light and with a happy ending.

Hope you feel better soon-reading is a great refuge, so you're doing the right thing to do do it while you weather the storm.

You could try the Bridgerton books, those are very easy to read. Or Jennifer bohnet’s French Riviera books which are very easy read (and free if you have kindle unlimited). In fact - lots of the kindle unlimited ones might fit the bill if you do have it.

Thank you everyone, will download samples of all those to kindle and give them a go

Quite a lot of 99p books on kindle in the genre, not good quality but should be fine for your purposes!

The novels of Melissa Nathan! They’re great, funny, well written, loosely based on Jane Austen, clever. She died young so if you read one and like it, brace yourself for a limited output.

If you liked Catherine Alliott did you read any of the early Fiona Walker books - I seem to remember they were written in a similar vein.
Sophie Kinsella’s The UnDomestic Goddess might fit the bill
I’m always several years out of date and I recently enjoyed Emily Henry’s Book Lovers (does reflect on loss of a parent though).
