Does she like art at all? There's a book called The Story of Art Without Men that I'm getting for my sister.
Otherwise, Hillary Clinton has a new book out. And I think Nancy Pelosi and Gretchen Whitmer have published autobiographies fairly recently.

I haven't read these, but they're all on my to read list:

Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez
Difficult Women: A History of Feminism in 11 Fights by Helen Lewis
Women's Lore by Sarah Clegg
Goddess with a Thousand Faces by Jasmine Elmer
A History of the World in 21 Women by Jenni Murray

Thank you!! I'll check out these suggestions

does she read crime fiction? If she has not already read Sara Paretsky's V I Warshawski novels she might enjoy them. V I - feminist, investigator, Chicago-based, has been battling the system since the 1970s. I think the books get better as they go, and you can jump in at any stage.

I presume you're looking for non-fiction suggestions, but Rodham by Curtis Sittenfield is fab - fiction but imagining what would have happened if Hillary Clinton had got rid of Bill because of all his philandering. American Wife by the same author is a fictionalised account of a First Lady based on Barbara Bush. It's really interesting as a concept but be warned it has sex scenes where you find yourself picturing George Bush.

Otherwise, I second Invisible Women - it's fab! Or Laura Bates' books, especially Everyday Sexism.

Kara Dansky. The Reckoning. How the Democrats and the Left betrayed women and girls.

Some excellent recent ones, in the hope that she might not have read them yet --

Democracy Awakening: Notes on the State of America by Heather Cox Wilkinson (2023)

Democracy and Solidarity: On the Cultural Roots of America's Political Crisis by James Davison Hunter (2024)

On Freedom by Timothy Snyder (2024)

War by Bob Woodward (2024)

The Forever War: America’s Unending Conflict with Itself by Nick Bryant (2024)

*

Sexed: A History of British Feminism by Susanna Rustin (2024)

Rebel Girl: My Life as a Feminist Punk by Kathleen Hanna (2024)

Outspoken: My Fight for Freedom and Human Rights in Afghanistan by Sima Samar (2024)

Breaking Free: The Lie of Equality and the Feminist Fight for Freedom by Marcie Bianco (2023)

A History of Women in 101 Objects: A Walk through Female History by Annabelle Hirsch (2023)

I echo this suggestion. It's the perfect choice for a feminist who is interested in American politics.

Joan Smith 'Unfortunately she was A Nymphomaniac' - Roman women revisited.

I have not read it, but have seen several reviews and it is about the way Trump style politics have been taken up particularly by conservative Christians in the US. (They are a huge constituency that actively restrict or try to restrict women on quasi religious grounds). It is about how the right have taken over the idea of nationalism in the US, with racist, homophobic and misogynistic outcomes, grossly distorting religious ideals along the way.

Not sure what happened there. The first bit of my post disappeared. The book is "Jesus and John Wayne" by Kirstin DuMez.
