Does anyone else read along to audiobooks?

I love it.
I can't listen to audiobooks at all without also reading along with the actual book because I get too easily distracted and they can't hold my attention.

I've no problem simply reading a book, love it actually, then I discovered dual narration audiobooks and really wanted to listen to them.

I've found that my new favourite way to read is to read along with the audiobook. It's so immersive, I'm loving it.

I also understand a lot more nuances that might usually go over my head.

I'm just wondering if anyone else read this way?

I can highly recommend it 😁

I’ve never tried it. I tend to mostly read fiction while listening to non-fiction - NOT at the same time 🤪 I might have to give it a go 😊

I do sometimes. I enjoy audiobooks but most of the time my mind wanders off so if I read along too it helps me focus

No I've never done this. To me, the whole point of an audiobook is that I can listen to it whilst I am doing other things like driving, housework, or my favourite, cross-stitch. It would be a waste for me to read a book at the same time.

However, I do sometimes read the same book via audio and a physical book- I did this with my dcs when re read Harry Potter for example- we'd read a chapter a bedtime and then the next day, listen to a chapter in the car. But obviously this involves having both the audio and the physical version! I'd like to do more of this but generally speaking I have a physical or kindle book on the go at the same time as a different audio book.

I much prefer reading books as I like my own voice in my head, but I listen to audiobooks in the car. I find almost all fiction narrators’ voices intensely irritating.

I can’t imagine reading and listening - seems a bit daft.
