As the title says really…

I enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction. Fiction - some books I’ve really enjoyed are…
Penance -Eliza Clark
All the broken pieces -John Boyne
The day Shelley Woodhouse woke up - Laura Pearson
Wrong Time Wrong Place - Gillian McAllister
Tell Me How This Ends - Jo Leevers
The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah
The Satsuma Complex -Bob Mortimer
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
Five People you meet in heaven - Mitch Albom
The Stand -Steven King
Catch 22 -Joseph Heller
The Time Traveller’s Wife

I've also read quite a lot by Michael Connelly, Harlen Coben, Joanna Cannon, Jodi Picoult, Lisa Jewell, Hazel Prior, Rachel Joyce, Mike Gayle, Fredrick Bachman and Matt Haig. I hated the Crawdads book and wasn’t keen on the Thursday Murder Club.

Non-fiction - I like people’s travel tales or when they do ‘challenges’ eg Tony Hawks Round Ireland with a Fridge or the George Mahood books. I also like insights into people’s work eg Adam Kay or other medical people or people who work in police / prisons / courts etc. I read a good one about someone who was a disaster victim identification specialist.

Looking forward to your recommendations!

@leapinglizard1234 I like Lisa Jewell and that type of author as well. You may also like -
Sally Hepworth
Clare Allen
Clare Douglas
Alex Lake
Tammy Cohen
Lesley Kara
Sam Carrington

Just to name a few. I love psychological thrillers and have many favourite authors.

@Seemslikethat
I had never read anything by Laura Pearson - mentioned in your post.
Oh my goodness I have just worked through all of her books! They are so good. (All free to read on kindle unlimited)
I started with The Day Shelly Woodhouse woke up which was good but each book since is better than the last.
I have had an emotional two days with "I wanted you to know".
Can't recommend enough!

I'm currently reading The Great Transition by Neal Goggins, which is pretty unputdownable so far. It's set in a future where humanity has been driven by climate change to live around the polar areas unless they can afford biodomes. Gripping story.

I have just finished The Square of Sevens-what a fantastic read. Well written, gripping and a fresh take on the trope of young heiress beset by misfortune. You won’t regret starting this.

I thought Joseph O' Connor's Star of the Sea was really good.

Yellowface - very much a page turner
