First it was the "new" Matthew Shardlake novel, which was mentioned online and even supposedly available on some dodgy websites, even though poor C J Sansom had died. And now on similar sites there is a new Simon Serrailler out , called The Sound Of Footsteps. But it's not on Amazon, or any genuine bookshops! Really odd.

I really want The Winds of Winter but I just don't believe it's ever going to happen

I was thinking the new book by Terry Hayes would never come out, it was delayed for about 3-4 years 🙈 so relieved that it's now out, I'm reading it now and utterly gripped. It was so worth the wait.

From the content, I can also see why it was held up - there's a lot of very believable CIA / spy-wizardry / White House detail that I can imagine was difficult to get through legal!

So just to say... keep on holding out, yours may come to light one day!

The last Sue Grafton "Z is for..."
Sadly, she died before writing it

Thorn of Emberlain by Scott Lynch.
Thankfully, each volume has, so far, worked as a good standalone adventure, unlike some fantasy series that stop mid story. For instance Melanie Rawn's Exiles trilogy is permanently stuck at two books.

Lucky for me I'm not a GRR Martin fan, as he seems to have lost interest in finishing.

The ending of Rebecca West’s The Fountain Overflows ‘trilogy’. Only the first novel was published in her lifetime, the other two volumes were put together from mostly unrevised notes by an editor after her death, and though they are wonderful, the third novel (there were to be four) just cuts off, and one major, mysterious and anguish-causing plot point is left unresolved. We’re left only with a few hints based on an authorial summary of the full arc.
