I've ready some murder, biography, fantasy, classics, very very long and some challenging books recently. None of my reserved books are available at the library. I'm chugging through spare on audible which is definitely not uplifting, after that have nothing unread on there, have nothing unread from my kobo splurges and fancy something light and breezy before I get on with the to read book.

I thought chick lit, have read a lot of Katie Fford, Veronica Henry and more recently Beth O'Leary or another light relief are the Rivers of London series. I don't know where to go next, but hoping to find some suggestions my library might actually have on e-book and available, which is a long shot as their e-library is embarrassingly small.

Thanks

Have you ever tried P. G. Wodehouse? What that man does with language makes my head spin. Right Ho Jeeves is one of the most beautiful, perfectly written books in existence. His world is pure air and light – no cruelty, no pain, and no suffering.

I also love Patrick Fermor's travel book A Time of Gifts. Fermor is such a joy to read – so positive and life-loving.

I occasionally dabble in a bit of chick lit. I recently read Seven Summers by Paige Toon and it was lovely. I think I’ve enjoyed all the books of hers that I’ve read.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

Jodi Taylor's Frogmorton Farm Series (The Chronicles of St. Mary's books are a good read too).

Second Wodehouse - can be read and enjoyed by all ages.

The Stranger Times series by C.K. McDonnell is good fun

Thanks for all the suggestions, I am off to see which are on offer or available in the library! Also joined the read along so that will keep me going with something a little more taxing.

If you like Rivers of London, I can recommend either the King’s Watch by Mark Hayden or anything by Gail Carriger set in the Parasol Protectorate universe.

I liked Weyward by Emilia Hart and that seems to fit the easy, non-challenging theme. There is a DV relationship though (although not wildly graphic or depressing). I found it uplifting!

Emily Henry's books are great for this! I loved You and Me on Vacation, Book Lovers and her new one Funny Story.

The Before the Coffee gets cold series are easy reads and reasonably uplifting
