Yes, I like some serious stuff too, i have a fair few books with the penguin classics logo, and i love Agatha Christie, but I like to lose myself in a chicklit book every now and then, that I don't really have to think about, where mostly, everyone lives happily ever after.

I loved the bridget jones books, like the shopaholic stuff and enjoy carole matthews, marian keys etc.

please tell me it's not just me

Jodi Piccoult's considered ChicLit . I read her as my "intelligent/heavy weight" fiction! Ooops

Do like Chiclit but have to keep the brain alive occasionally with some murder/detective stuff. I am a Sophie Kinsella nut though, managed to read the latest in a day (did feign sickness and farm dd off to mothers ) and love the author of "Cuban heels", whose name escapes me

I love chicklit, read loads of it, pure escapism that I don't have to think about!!
Just finished some Cathy Kellys and I love Catherine Alliott, "Rosie Meadows Regrets" creases me up.
And yes, I do read serious stuff occasionally but I read to relax and for fun

Alexandra Potter, Lisa Jewell and Pauline McLynn are all fun and frothy - nice and easy after a crap day.
