Count if Monte Cristo

I've never read this and really want to. Had the idea to listen as an audio book but it's 52 bloody hours long. My question is, is it worth it? 52 hours is a big investment for me!!

It's funny because I didn't expect to stick with it or even enjoy it but it's absolutely amazing

My absolute favourite book of all time is Shogun by James Clavell and 3rd is This Thing of Darkness by Harry Thompson.

I thought it was pure coincidence that all three involve seafarers but now I'm thinking maybe not!

Would be interested to hear what other books are enjoyed by those who loved The C of MC...
