Or should I just charity shop?

You can donate books to the National Trust as well, so they can use the sale proceeds. We did that with a load before moving house, knowing there wouldn't be room for them all.

Also I drop books off at our local community book exchange and pick up new ones.

With some places you use their bar code reader and the price goes into your a/c .
During covid I was buying lots of books ( all brand new and current ) and thought it a good way to get some money back. Tbh they were only offering 20p to 50p at the most so I kept them and sent to charity shop .

Is selling financially worth it, easy? If so where?

We have used Ziffit and Webuybooks. If you have a lot of books, especially newer ones, it can add up. Ziffit pick up from your door

Oooo Zifgitt looks good. Has good reviews too. How does it work?

I've used Ziffit and Music Magpie. You use the barcodes to find out if they want the books and how much they will pay.
