I loved it.

I read it on holidays and I finished it on the last two mornings, snorting and swallowing down in a vain effort not to wake anyone else.

It was brilliant.

I failed on the not waking, my DSIL got up and demanded I hurry up as it was obviously well written and she wanted to read it.

Just read it, (from my Christmas stash), enjoyable, slight, light. A bit Bridget Jonesy tbh. Felt a bit like those "Worst Week of my life " TV comedy series. Well written, but not sure why he bothered.

Just started it on the train this morning and found it very quick to get into. Reading it for my book club. I loved the Curious incident of the dog... and fear that this can only disappoint.

I thought it was brilliant, and so funny. Amazed how well he writes from lots of diferent perspectives -- men, women, young, old (autistic and non-autistic).

The self-surgery scene is so blackly funny. I lauged so much reading this on holiday last year that my 11 yo asked to read it after me -- he loved Curious Incident. Had to discourage him as it's might rude in one or two places.

I loved this book, i struggled to put it down and was disappointed when i finished it. It was fab.

I started to read this book yesterday, so am near the beginning, but I am enjoying it. Did you read 'The curious incident of the dog in the night' ( i think that was the title)- his previous book- that was really good.

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/02/2008 10:53

haven;t read the Curious Incident yet but really love this book - am trying to finish it for tomorrow ( it's on a two week loan only from library) - the self surgery was very funny

I haven't read the curious incident

I didn't particularly enjoy this one

I found it a bit suoerficial and didn't really feel anything for the characters

confuzed · 14/02/2008 12:29

Liked this book although raced through it. A light, entertaining and funny read; despite the dark subject matter.

Minum · 14/02/2008 12:33

I really enjoyed it, read it on hols to DS1 (13), glossed over the odd graphic bit, but we both thought it was a good book.

Katisha · 14/02/2008 12:40

Thought Curious Incident was better as it was generally tauter. I feel A Spot of Bother is too long and, while good, a bit indulgent and could have done with a bit of editing down.

MrsMuddle · 14/02/2008 13:39

Didn't like this one very much. Didn't like any of the characters very much. Wanted to shake them all. Loved the first one.
