Distracted by a murder mystery all weekend

It's been a while since I've found a book so distracting that I'm thinking about it all the time and read it every spare minute. The Word is Murder by Antony Horowitz.
Really surprised actually because although I appreciated Magpie Murders i didn't immediately look for more of his books. I only picked this one off Libby as I was waiting for a hold to become free (a Brother Athelstan).
Will I be disappointed with the next Horowitz in this series? Which mysteries gripped you?

I read most of The Chalk Man by C J Tudor yesterday and will be finishing it today

So well written, can't believe it's a debut, and reviews say there is a great twist at the end.... 👀

I've enjoyed quite a few Horowitz books, his Hawthorne character isn't my favourite but I still read all in that series and enjoyed them well enough.
I've read all the Magpie/Moonflower etc ones too and thought they were good, I favour them over Hawthorne ones.
My bar is pretty low with mysteries though - I will stay up all night to find out whodunit, regardless of enjoyment really. They all grip me at the time and I HAVE to know.
He wrote a Sherlock Holmes type one too, The Silk Road? I liked that but haven't kept up with the series.

I like Horowitz. I stayed up reading Blue Lightening by Ann Cleeves, part of her fabulous Shetland series.

I really like the Hawthorne and Horowitz series. Also the Magpie & Moonflower Murders by the same author

The TV version of Magpie Murders on Britbox is great too. Leslie Manville is so cool.

@JaneFondue I’ve watched Shetland on TV, but never read the books. I’m going to download Blue Lightening, have you read any others of that series that you would recommend?

I'm really recommend reading the Shetland series in order as the characters continue their stories from book to book. Not really stand alone. The first is Raven Black, I think, which is very good. I get them from my library.

Thanks everyone. Will also look at the Shetlans series.
The C J Tudor book may be a bit chilling for my tastes. I'm a bit more Marple / Poirot than that usually!
