I have bought that many parenting books I have lost count. Recently I became a full time SAHM and I need a reference book for thos days when my dd is bored and I am all out of ideas.

DD is just 2. I bought a book recommended on Amazon but it did not impress me. It must have been a book for complete morons.

Things to to with your child: painting, collages, play dough, baking....

Yep, I know all that... but bake what? Make what sort of collage?

I need more comprehensive ideas... the sort of resource a nursery or pre-school teacher may use.

Any ideas?

Have you lokked at underfives website? Can't remember exact address. Also theideabox.com. And cbeebies or milkshake (channel 5) have printouts. And Crayola?

You can get kids cookbooks out the library, and craft ones.

IME, DD1 liked to just paint anything!! And stick anything! She still likes to make pizza, and fairy cakes. We have spent a lot of the weekend making Xmas decs and glittering everything in the house!!

Go to the Arts section on MN.....there are loads of great ideas.

We recently bought a pack of choc mini rolls and decorated them with jelly diamonds & writing icing. It took ages to do & then we stuffed ourselves!

This is the best book ever but sadly I think it is out of print. Can't recommend it highly enough, maybe Ebay?

\link{http://www.EnchantedLearning.com/crafts/toddler/\Enchanted Learning} is my fave. The link is to the pre-schooler's section, but they're good for school-age as well.

Thanks for your suggestions. I like that Enchanted Learning site. I have added it to my favourites.

My dd doesn't have a very long attention span so if I just get the paints or play dough out, after 5 minutes she says 'finished' I probably need the ideas of what to paint and make and stick so that I don't get bored. I like to get creative anyway and hope that my greater enthusiasm for the activites may rub off on my dd. Well, I can hope can't I?
